RACE NEWS

February 6th, 2008 E-UPDATE

Happy February --

ANNOUNCING: The 24 Hours of Freedom
How would you like to have been there in the first year of the Colorado Relay? We're looking for runners and teams who want to be a part of a brand new race! In 2008 you have that opportunity to be the first to run in a brand new race that we've organized in Arizona to benefit disabled athletes and veterans.

Running from Flagstaff 200 miles (36 legs) to near Phoenix, AZ you'll get tons of trail, dirt roads, fireroads and back roads. You'll get parts of the Arizona Trail and get to run along the Mogollon Rim under the nearly full moon. The race will start around 7000 feet and stay up high for much of the race dropping down to lower elevation towards the end of the race. Teams can be made up of 6-14 people running and/or handcycling in 4 divisions in the first "24 Hours of Freedom" -- the new sister race to the Colorado Relay.

The race benefits the Freedom for Life Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization which creates programs to get disabled athletes out into the wilderness. Both runners and hand-cyclists are encouraged to take on the challenge of the 24 Hours of Freedom. The event runs on April 18th and 19th, 2008.

Registration is OPEN. The Race Course will be announced March 1, 2008 so sign up for the 24 Hours of Freedom E-news to be notified of important information.
